Memorial

Lanham was transported by ambulance from the adjacent America's Best Inn on Thursday and died at the hospital shortly thereafter from an untreated broken leg and sepsis (blood poisoning). The child's mother and registered sex offender boyfriend both face charges in the death.

BC Roll Over

A convertible rests in a ditch along 14th street near the intersection with Indiana Avenue in Bessemer City after the driver lost control, ran off the the road and overturned on Friday January 30, 2009. Police indicated that excessive speed and alcohol were factors in this accident that sent the driver and sole occupant of the vehilce to the hospital with non-critical injuries.

Football Season Rolls On

I shot no less than three football games this week; two high school games that were rescheduled (due to rain that never came) and the Gaston County middle school football championship.

If I had gone to the Panthers NFL game on Sunday I could have made it four days straight, but that probably would've sent me to the nuthouse! Besides, I had a fun and better-paying assignment on Sunday--more on that later.
